Notarizations are often required on important documents, such as wills and trusts, real estate deeds, and powers of attorney. They are also required on certain forms of advanced directives. Notarized documents are also useful for transferring ownership of an automobile. Notarizations are performed by a notary public, which is an impartial third party who checks that a signer is aware of the document’s contents and is signing freely. Notaries also check the signer’s identity and willingness to sign without intimidation.

Fees: $6.00 for the 1st signature & $1.00 for each additional signature per document (plus travel fee).
